Applications are now being accepted for the 2012 Dr. Anna Templeton Award. This award is available to anyone who is continuing their education beyond their first year of training at a craft school. Click here for more information or here to open a pdf of the application form.

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2012 Newfoundland & Labrador Environmental Awards. The awards recognize and celebrate individuals, community groups and businesses for their outstanding efforts and dedication to protect and enhance our environment. The deadline to submit nominations is May. 1, 2012. Further information on the program, including nomination forms and guidelines is available on the Department of Environment & Conservation website or by calling 709-729-5783. The environmental awards ceremony will take place during Environment Week in June. The Environment Awards program is a joint initiative sponsered by the Department of Environment & Conservation, the Multi-Materials Stewardship Board and the Newfoundland and Labrador Women's Institute.

On Thursday, March 01, 2012 Newfoundland & Labrador Women's Institutes, Central District hosted a Women's Heart Health Workshop in partnership with Central Health and the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation. Click here for more information.
